Lightel Technologies, Inc. RoHS policy
Introduction

On January 27, 2003, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union adopted EU Directive 2002/95/EC, Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS). The RoHS directive requires Member States to ensure that, as a general rule, as of July 1, 2006 new electrical and electronic equipment put on the market within the European Union does not contain lead cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls, or polybrominated diphenyl ethers above the accepted threshold levels.

Policy

It is Lightel Technologies Inc.'s policy to limit, and to a great extent avoid, the use of hazardous substances in the design and manufacturing of its products. In response to the EU's Directives, Lightel has developed and has deployed programs to facilitate compliance with the RoHS Directive by elimination or reduction of the restricted substances.

Lightel Technologies Inc. has committed to comply with the Directive by redesigning certain products to remove listed substances for RoHS compliance. Other Lightel products are RoHS compliant based on a specified exemption set out in the RoHS Directive under which new electrical and electronic equipment may contain an otherwise listed substance. Other equipment that Lightel manufactures fall outside the scope of the RoHs Directive under Article 2, Section (1), category 9, which covers test and monitoring equipment

We will continue to monitor any additional EU requirements that may develop to ensure Lightel remains a RoHS compliant manufacturer.
